Inb4 "ur no fun, man, it's just a harmless joke, lighten up"

Am I the only one who has a visceral, knee-jerk reaction of anger when you see someone's car pranked, regardless of the severity? I'm sure it took the guy no more than 2 minutes to pull the crap off his 740, but that's not my point: I would be beyond furious if someone did this to my car, I find it indescribably disrespectful. It's saying, hey man, you know that thing you love like a child, the one object in your life that you couldn't imagine being without? Yeah, watch me fuck with it. I would never ever use any of my friends' cars as the platform for a prank, however harmless, just because of how much cars mean to me. Of course the comments on Reddit about this thing were all in favor of it, so maybe I'm in the minority. I mean, I get why it's funny, and it is to an extent, but still.

/end rant

It depends on the person you are pranking, if I owned this car and a close friend did this to it, I would probably nearly wet myself in laughter. If they did this to my current car, then I would not be impressed at all.

For me, it depends on the car in question.

The packing tape is what made me cringe. If it were painter's tape or something that has no chance of leaving residue behind, it would be a lot more forgivable.
